Clocking in and out on POS

Once the Team Shift tile has been added to your Shopify POS home screen (see Adding the Team Shift tile to POS), clocking in and out takes just a couple of taps.

Tapping the tile

Tap the Team Shift tile — labeled "Team Shift" with the subheading "Clock In / Out" — to open the clock-in/out screen. Team Shift automatically identifies who you are from your current POS staff session, so there's no separate PIN or login inside the tile itself. Whoever is logged into that POS device with their Shopify staff PIN is who gets clocked in.

Clocking in

If you're not currently clocked in, you'll see your shop name, the current date and time, your location, and a "Welcome Back" greeting with your first name, along with a Clock In button.

Tap Clock In, and a confirmation screen appears: "Ready to clock in? Shift time tracking will begin immediately after confirming." Tap Confirm Clock In to start your shift, or Cancel to back out.

While you're clocked in

Once clocked in, the screen shows your Shift Details — your last activity, and a live Time Elapsed counter that ticks up every second in hours, minutes, and seconds. You'll see a Clock Out button, and, if breaks are enabled for you, a Take Break button too (see Taking breaks on POS).

Clocking out

Tap Clock Out, and you'll get a confirmation screen: "Ready to clock out? Your shift will be completed." Tap Confirm Clock Out to finish, or Cancel to keep working.

After confirming, you'll see a Shift Summary screen with a checkmark, "Thanks, you're clocked out!", your Total Time worked, and how many Breaks Taken during the shift. Tap Close to dismiss it.

You don't need a scheduled shift to clock in — if there's a published shift matching your location and the current date, Team Shift links your timesheet to it automatically; if not, it simply creates an unlinked timesheet. See Clocking in without a scheduled shift.
