Understanding the weekly schedule grid

The Schedule page is a weekly grid: each row is a staff member assigned to the selected location (plus anyone who happens to have a shift there even if they're not formally assigned), and each column is one of the seven days in the selected week.

Reading the grid

  • Shift chips appear in the cell for the staff member and day they're scheduled. Published shifts look visually distinct from draft shifts — drafts haven't been published yet and staff can't see them on POS.
  • The Daily totals row at the bottom sums scheduled hours for each day across all staff.
  • Each staff member's row shows a running weekly hours subtotal in the staff column, calculated live from the shifts currently on the grid.

Header controls

  • Week picker — a date range picker that snaps to full weeks, based on your shop's configured week-start day (Sunday or Monday — see Team Shift settings reference).
  • Location — only shown if you have more than one location. Schedules are always scoped to a single location at a time.
  • Show timesheets — a checkbox that overlays completed timesheets from that week directly onto the grid, in a visually distinct style. Overlaid timesheets are clickable and take you straight to the timesheet detail page — handy for comparing who was scheduled against who actually clocked in.
  • Unpublished badge and Publish week — when the selected week has draft shifts, you'll see a badge like "N unpublished" and a Publish week page action. See Publishing schedules and notifying staff.

Empty states

  • If you haven't synced any locations yet, the grid shows "Sync a location to build schedules" with a Go to Settings action.
  • If a location has no staff assigned, you'll see "No staff assigned to this location" with a Manage staff action.
