Hide a Service From Your Store but Keep Its Link

Keep a booking product out of collections, menus, and search, and share its direct link with the customers who should book it

Some services are only for some customers, such as private lessons or a members' class. You can keep the product off your collection pages and menus, and send its link only to those customers.

Easy Appointment Booking has no setting for this. Where a product shows on your store is set in Shopify. The booking calendar works on any product page that customers can open, so hide the product in Shopify and keep its page open.

Keep the product page open

The calendar needs the product page. In Shopify, keep the product:

  • Status: Active. A Draft product has no page, so customers cannot book it.
  • Sales channels: Online Store included.

See The calendar is not showing on my store.

Hide the product

  1. Remove it from collections. In your Shopify admin, go to Products > Collections. Open each collection and remove the product. For an automated collection, change the product's tags or type so it does not meet the conditions.
  2. Remove it from menus. Go to Online Store > Navigation and remove any menu item that links to it.
  3. Check your home page. In the theme editor, check sections such as Featured collection or Featured product.
  4. Keep it out of search. In Shopify, a product with the Unlisted status does not show in search, collections, or recommendations, but its link still works. If your Shopify admin offers it, set the product's status to Unlisted.
Warning:

After you hide the product, open its link in a private browser window and make a test booking. Some themes and apps show products in other places, such as recommendations or a search app.

  1. On the Dashboard, click Edit on the service.
  2. At the top of the page, click View in your store.
  3. Copy the address from your browser. Send it to your customers, or put it on a page only they can find.

The link looks like https://your-store.com/products/private-lesson.

Other ways to share a booking calendar

To show the calendar on a page instead of a product page, see Take bookings on any page.

Hiding a product does not stop someone who has the link from booking it. The app does not have password-protected or invite-only services.
