How to sell services and appointments on Shopify
You can sell a service on Shopify as a product, but Shopify will not ask the customer when they want it. To sell appointments, add a booking app. The service page then shows open times from your schedule, the customer picks one and pays at checkout, and the time closes so nobody else can book it. The appointment arrives as a normal Shopify order.

Your options
A product, then email the customer to book
- Best for
- A few services a month.
- Limits
- Every sale starts a back-and-forth to find a time. Customers can buy a time you do not have.
A product with a link to Calendly or Acuity
- Best for
- Stores that already use one of those tools.
- Limits
- The customer pays in one place and books in another. Payment and appointment are not linked, and you match them by hand.
A Shopify booking app
- Best for
- Any store that sells time as well as things.
- Limits
- Check that it uses Shopify checkout, so you keep one payout and one customer list.
Set up a service with Easy Appointment Booking
- 1
Install and create the service
Install the app from the Shopify App Store. Click New Event or Service, choose Paid service, and name it, such as 60-minute consultation.
- 2
Choose One-on-one
One-on-one gives each time to one customer. Pick the length, such as 60 minutes.
- 3
Set your hours
Choose On a set schedule, then change the sample hours to your real ones. Add buffer time if you need a gap between appointments.
- 4
Link a product
Let the app create the product for you, or link a service product you already sell. The product's price is the price of the appointment.
- 5
Turn on the app embed
Switch on Appointment Booking in your theme editor, then make a test booking from the Bookings page to see the email your customers get.
One service is free. Reminders start on Standard ($15/month). Google Calendar sync and self-service rescheduling start on Pro ($29/month).
Make it work like a real front desk
Block times you are busy
Connect Google Calendar so a dentist visit in your calendar closes that time on your store.
Send reminders
Reminder emails and texts go out before each appointment. They are the cheapest way to cut no-shows.
Let customers move their own booking
Add a Manage booking link to every email, with a cut-off such as 24 hours before. You stop answering reschedule emails.
Offer more than one length
Give the product a 30-minute and a 60-minute variant, and link each variant to its own calendar.
Common questions
Do I need a separate website for bookings?
No. The calendar runs on your Shopify product page, so customers book in the same store where they shop.
Can customers book without paying?
Yes. Choose Book without payment, and customers book with only their name and email. Use it for free consultations, or when you take payment at the visit.
Can I have several staff members?
Yes. Give each person their own schedule and connect them to the service. Customers can pick who they see, or the app picks someone who is free.
Will the appointment show in my Shopify orders?
Yes. A paid appointment is a normal Shopify order. The order shows the service, date, time, and the customer's answers to your questions.
Can I sell services and products in one cart?
Yes. The appointment goes into the cart like any product, so a customer can book a fitting and buy the shoes in one checkout.
