Sometimes your regular weekly schedule isn't enough — you need to close off a holiday, take a vacation, or block a specific afternoon. The app handles this through date overrides, which let you override your normal hours for any date or date range without changing your underlying weekly schedule.

Blocking a single day

Use this to close for a holiday, a staff training day, or any one-off closure.

  1. Go to the Availabilities tab and click Set Schedule next to the availability you want to update.
  2. Scroll down to Specific Date Schedules.
  3. Click Select a date or date range.
  4. Pick the date you want to block.
  5. Leave Start Time and End Time blank — this signals the entire day is unavailable.
  6. Click Apply Schedule, then Save Changes.

The day will disappear from your booking calendar immediately. Customers won't be able to select it.

To remove the block later, find the entry under Specific Date Schedules and delete it. Your normal weekly hours will resume on that date.

Blocking a range of dates (vacation or extended closure)

  1. Go to Availabilities > Set Schedule.
  2. Scroll to Specific Date Schedules and click Select a date or date range.
  3. Click the first date of your closure, then click the last date to select the full range.
  4. Leave Start Time and End Time blank.
  5. Click Apply Schedule, then Save Changes.

Every day in the range will be blocked. One entry covers the entire period — you won't see a separate line for each day.

If your availability is assigned to multiple services, the block applies to all of them. If you only want to block time for one service, create a separate availability for that service and add the override there.

Removing a specific time slot on a particular day

If you're available most of the day but need to protect a specific window — for example, you have a doctor's appointment from 2:00–3:00pm on a Tuesday — you can use two time intervals to create a gap.

  1. In Specific Date Schedules, add an override for that date.
  2. Instead of leaving the times blank, enter your morning hours (e.g. Start Time: 9:00, End Time: 14:00).
  3. Add a second interval for your afternoon hours (e.g. Start Time: 15:00, End Time: 18:00).
  4. Click Apply Schedule, then Save Changes.

The gap between the intervals won't have any slots. Customers will see morning and afternoon options but nothing during the blocked window.

You can also block time automatically by connecting Google Calendar. Any event marked as "Busy" on your calendar removes the corresponding slot from your booking page. See Google Calendar integration to set this up.

What happens to existing bookings?

Blocking a date or time does not automatically cancel bookings that are already confirmed. The block only prevents new bookings from being made in that window.

If you need to cancel existing bookings for a day you're closing, do so manually from the Bookings tab before blocking the date. Customers will receive a cancellation notification if you have notifications enabled.

Always check your Bookings tab for upcoming appointments before blocking a date range. Blocking the dates won't notify customers — you'll need to cancel or reschedule those bookings yourself.
