Easy Appointment Booking does not process or hold customer payments itself. Booking payments go through Shopify Checkout or Shopify POS using the payment methods already configured for your store.

How customer payments work

When a customer completes a paid booking:

  1. Shopify creates an order.
  2. Shopify processes the payment using your store's payment methods.
  3. The funds are included in your normal Shopify payout.
  4. Easy Appointment Booking links the booking to the Shopify order.

If you can see the order in Shopify, the booking payment is part of your Shopify earnings.

Where to see revenue and payouts

Easy Appointment Booking can show revenue for an individual booking, based on the linked Shopify order. It does not replace Shopify's financial reports or include future purchases from the same customer.

For complete financial information, use:

  • Shopify Admin > Orders — order and payment status
  • Shopify Admin > Analytics — store-wide reporting
  • Shopify Payments > Payouts — funds paid out to your store
  • Shopify POS — in-person booking payments

Deposits and remaining balances

With Booking Deposits enabled:

  • The deposit is collected when the customer books.
  • Easy Appointment Booking creates a Shopify order for the deposit flow.
  • The remaining balance is invoiced through Shopify after the appointment or when you choose to collect it.
  • Both payments remain part of Shopify's standard order and payment system.

Cancellations and refunds

Cancelling a booking does not refund its Shopify order automatically unless automatic refunds are enabled or you choose Refund the customer in the cancellation dialog.

To enable automatic refunds by default, go to Settings > General > Shopify Workflow and enable Automatically refund the Shopify Order. When a refund is triggered, Shopify returns the money to the customer's original payment method and records the refund on the order.

See Automatic refunds for the full cancellation workflow.

Automatic refunds apply to every eligible cancellation, including one made by mistake. Make sure the setting matches your cancellation policy before enabling it.
