You can offer extra products with a booking. For example, someone booking a wine tasting can add a cheese board for $15. The add-on goes into the cart with the booking, and both are paid for in the same order.

Add-ons need the Pro plan or higher.

Step 1: Make the add-on product in Shopify

The add-on is a normal Shopify product.

  1. In your Shopify admin, go to Products and click Add product.
  2. Give it a name and a price.
  3. Set its status to Active, and make sure it is on your Online Store.
  4. Click Save.

Do not use one of your bookable services as an add-on.

Step 2: Add it to your service

  1. On the Dashboard, open the service.
  2. Click the Upsells tab.
  3. Turn on the switch in Offer products after booking.
  4. Click Add products and choose one or more products.
  5. Optional: under a product, click Add description and type a short note, up to 160 characters. It only shows with this booking and does not change the product in Shopify.
  6. Click Save in the bar at the top of the page.
Tip:

Offer one to three add-ons. More choices slow customers down.

What customers see

After a customer picks a time, your add-ons show above the button that adds the booking to the cart. Each one shows its photo, name, price, and your note. Customers can:

  • add or remove each add-on
  • pick an option, such as a size, if the product has options
  • change the quantity

Add-ons are always optional.

In the Shopify order

The booking and the add-ons are separate items on the same Shopify order. To see the add-ons, open the booking in the app and click through to the order.

Limits

  • Add-ons do not work on a service that takes deposits. The Upsells tab tells you if deposits are on. See Booking deposits.
  • Add-ons only show to customers booking on your store. They do not show when you add a booking in the app, or when a customer reschedules.
