What's New: July 2026

July 2026 brought QR code check-in in Shopify POS, per-attendee intake questions, a new create-event flow, booking widgets on every plan, a public API for bookings, a redesigned Team Portal, and a faster storefront.

July was about what happens around the booking: checking customers in at the counter, collecting the right details from every attendee, and getting booking data out of the app. Here's what shipped.

QR Code Check-In in Shopify POS

Booking confirmation emails now include a QR code. When the customer arrives, your staff scan it in Shopify POS and the booking is checked in.

Scanning works two ways. A hardware barcode scanner works as before, and there's now a Scan QR code button that opens the camera on any iPad or iPhone, so you don't need extra equipment at the counter.

Check-in can also close out the order for you. Turn on Fulfill the booking on the Shopify Order under Shopify order automations, and checking a customer in fulfills that booking's line item. Only that line item, so orders that mix a booking with other products stay untouched.

QR code check-in is on the Ultimate plan. Order fulfillment on check-in is Pro Plus and above.

The Today's Bookings list in POS is cleaner too. Cancelled bookings no longer appear, and a new "Hide checked-in bookings" checkbox clears the list as your day fills up.

Per-Attendee Intake Questions

You can now mark any intake question Ask this for each attendee. When a customer books for four people, the storefront repeats those fields under Attendee 1 through Attendee 4, and each answer is stored against its attendee.

This is for anything that can't be answered once for the group: shoe size, dietary restrictions, waiver signatures, skill level.

Reading the answers is easier as well. The responses modal now compares by question instead of by person. Booking-level answers sit in a Shared responses card, per-attendee questions group into collapsible cards, and each card shows a running summary like "5 Yes, 1 No" or "4 of 6 answered".

A New Create Event Flow

Creating an event is now a guided flow instead of a five-step form. You choose paid or free, link an existing Shopify product or create one from a template, and land on a success screen.

Two things make setup faster. New events start with your existing availability, or a Monday to Friday, 9 to 5 schedule in your store's timezone if you don't have one yet. And the success screen links straight to your storefront with the booking calendar already open, so you can run a test booking before you tell anyone about it.

Booking Widgets on Every Plan

The Inline Calendar, Popup Calendar Button, Featured Service Card, and Event Calendar app blocks now work on every plan, including free. Before this, stores below Pro could add the blocks in the theme editor and get nothing on the page.

Setup got clearer at the same time, with direct links into the theme editor from the app and a simpler way to copy the IDs a block needs. The Event Collection widget stays on Pro. If you haven't put a calendar outside your product pages yet, see taking bookings on any page.

A Public API for Bookings

Bookings are now readable and writable from outside the app. The API covers finding bookable services and open times, creating a booking, reading existing bookings, and the peak hours report.

There's also a new Claude and ChatGPT section in Settings under Marketing & analytics. It explains how to turn the API on so an AI assistant can check availability and book on your behalf, instead of you copying booking details back and forth. API access is on the Ultimate plan and is granted by request.

Redesigned Booking Details

The booking details modal is now a searchable list grouped into Customer, Booking, Payment & order, and Admin. Type in the search box and the fields filter as you go, so finding one phone number in a long booking takes a second.

Two useful fields joined it: the name of the Google or Outlook calendar the booking synced to, and a link straight to the event.

Modals opened from inside the booking, such as notes, packages, intake responses, reschedule, and cancel, now open on top of it rather than behind it.

A Simpler Dashboard

The four-stat grid on the dashboard is now a single Booking Pulse card: one sentence about your last 7 days, with a button through to the full report.

The dashboard also loads faster. The heading is rendered on the server rather than after the JavaScript arrives, which cut the time to first meaningful paint from around 3.4 seconds. Dashboard, Bookings, Settings, Availabilities, and Event detail each have a loading placeholder shaped like the real page, so the layout no longer jumps once the data lands.

Redesigned Team Portal

The portal your staff sign in to has been rebuilt. It has one consistent look instead of three, navigation that stays put as you move between screens and collapses into a drawer on smaller screens, and screens that work on a phone.

Password reset also behaves properly now, with real messages for expired links and unknown accounts instead of a browser alert.

Improvements

  • Advanced Availability Rules moved to Pro Plus — capacity rules used to require Ultimate.
  • Deposits work in Shopify Markets — buyers outside your default market now check out in their own currency instead of hitting an incompatible checkout.
  • Google Calendar tells you when it's broken — if the connection is revoked or expires for good, Settings shows a reconnect prompt instead of silently retrying forever.
  • More Outlook detail on bookings — see which Outlook calendar a booking synced to, and resync a single booking.
  • Mobile calendar view is yours to pick — the Event Calendar can keep the view you chose instead of switching itself on small screens.
  • Honest "slot unavailable" messages — the storefront now accounts for party size, so a slot with two spots left says so instead of saying it's full.
  • POS payments link to the right booking — a POS "collect payment" order attaches to the existing booking rather than creating a second one.
  • Free and admin bookings count toward revenue reports — the Post-Visit Revenue roster now includes bookings that never came through a storefront order.
  • A What's New window in the app — new releases show up when you open the app, so you don't have to read the blog to find them.
  • Redesigned Support page — shortcut cards for the help center, demo videos, and chat, plus a category sidebar with live match counts.
  • A cart event for theme developers — the storefront dispatches cart:update with the cart, item count, and source, so custom cart drawers can refresh themselves.
  • A clear notice when you uninstall — merchants get an email with the date their data is deleted and how to keep it by reinstalling.

Fixes

  • Klaviyo follow-ups send again — fixed follow-ups not sending for stores that use Klaviyo without our email templates.
  • One "Select a time" button, styled correctly — fixed a duplicate, unstyled button on featured product sections in themes like Dawn.
  • Early clicks no longer 404 — fixed a race where clicking the booking button before our script finished loading sent the customer to a dead page.
  • The storefront calendar stops crashing — fixed a conflict with date formatting code injected by other apps.
  • Intake responses always open — fixed the View button doing nothing on events with no questions, and the modal opening behind the booking details window.
  • Rescheduling keeps the attendee count — fixed the count and calendar date resetting when staff reschedule from the admin.
  • Staff without a last name can have date overrides — fixed a save error on single-name team members.
  • Booking tags stay on screen and current — fixed the tag dropdown opening off the edge of the modal, and old tags lingering in the list.
  • Line breaks survive Outlook — fixed merchant-written email text collapsing into one paragraph.
  • POS handles timezone-locked events — fixed an invalid date error that could loop the check-in screen.
  • Rescheduling updates the order quantity — fixed the draft order keeping the old attendee count.
  • Upsells work on password-protected stores — fixed eligibility being denied while a store was still behind a password.
  • Reinstalls keep your email design — fixed the email template being reset on uninstall or downgrade.
